Last June, Vista Brewing hosted the first annual Destination Brew Fest on their scenic grounds. This boutique beer festival benefitted the Texas Brewshed Alliance and featured a wonderful slew of lager and farmhouse beers from many of our favorite local breweries. We attended this festival with a single roll of Kodak Portra 800 and our interest piqued.
While tasting beers (local and beyond, old and new alike) is always a great attraction of beer festivals (obviously), this festival also provided the opportunity to participate in a guided beer tasting as well as a panel discussion that imparted priceless knowledge as well as rare beer pouring.
Despite being held in the middle of the Texas summer, the giant tent that housed the festival made shade plentiful and the heat bearable—aided of course by the refreshments. But more importantly, the first annual Destination Brew Fest exceeded many expectations and set the stage for future events that we no doubt look forward to.
